From the Superintendent's Desk:

Community Meet and Greet sessions with Mrs. Gore were held April 2nd and 4th. During these sessions students, staff, parents and community members had the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Gore as well as provide feedback on strengths of our system and areas of need. A third session will be held Thursday, April 25th at 4:30pm at the Anthony Bateman Community Center.

These groups of students and staff members were recognized at the April Board of Education meeting.

Georgia Young Authors

The system grade level winners of the Georgia Young Authors writing competition were recognized. Two of the grade level winners also won for our RESA district and will go on to compete at the state level.

Caleb Rice Receives GAMSP Award

Caleb Rice recently received the Mike Campbell Emerging Leader Award. This award is presented by the Georgia Association of Middle School Principals (GAMSP).

Mr. Rice is an Assistant Principal at Northeast Middle School.

TCHS Parliamentary Procedure Team

TCHS Parliamentary Procedure Team

The TCHS Parliamentary Procedure Team recently won the Area competition and will be moving on to compete at the state level. Members of the team shared a brief demonstration of Roberts Rules of Order to the board members.

Jennifer Johnson Named TCHS Principal

Jennifer Johnson has been named Principal of Tift County High School for the 2024-2025 school year. Mrs. Johnson is currently serving as the Principal at Northeast Middle School where she will remain through the end of the school year.
