The Board of Education Facility Committee met on Tuesday, July 8th, to discuss plans for two major construction projects: the new 7th & 8th Grade Middle School and the Multi-Purpose Facility.

The new 7th & 8th Grade Middle School will be situated on New River Church Road, adjacent to Tift County High School, with the main entrance on Old Ocilla Road. A traffic study has been completed, and turning lanes will be added at both entrances to help manage traffic flow safely and efficiently. Once all the road design plans are completed, we will begin engaging with the County regarding road projects.

The Multi-Purpose Facility will be constructed over the existing turf field. This facility is still in the design phase, with plans for an adjacent building that includes a weight room, locker rooms, and a kitchen. Construction is expected to begin after the conclusion of the football season this year.

We are excited about these projects and the opportunities they will provide for students and staff in Tift County. Updates will be shared as progress continues.

The policy outlines expectations for the appropriate use of personal electronic devices during the school day and is designed to support a focused and productive learning environment. The policy will also be included in the Parent & Student Handbook and Code of Conduct for the upcoming school year.
